To begin the evaluation process for a living donor transplant, please contact one of the following transplant centers nearest you. For a list of transplant centers in California, click here.
The transplant center staff will ask you questions about your medical history to find out if you have any conditions that would keep you from being a donor. You will complete a blood test to see if you are compatible with the intended transplant candidate. The transplant staff will answer your medical questions and tell you about the possible risks and benefits involved in being a donor. During this time, it is important for you to get as much information as possible from the center and other sources, such as those listed here. For more information on what to expect as part of your donor evaluation, go to Evaluation Step by Step.
